Port of Male'
Male' beign the capital city, Male' is the most easiest and convenient port if your call is to load. unload goods, containers and if you are plannig to receives supplies, repairs and other needs and time consuming.
Male' is where all main sources for supplies and other port facilities are for container ships calling fro loading and unloading. Even though other ports are used with permits from the Authorities.

Port of Gan
Port of Gan is on the most south island od Maldives on the island of Gan. This port is very much used by teh sailing vessels planning the passage via the Cocos Keeling and other Islands below the Equator. of MaldivesUligamu is mainly used by the sailing vessels crossings Maldives on their yovage. Agent
When calling Maldives it is highly recommended to appoint an agent to arrange and represent the vessel/owner at the Authorities and to apply for permints, licences, etc. The agent would do all the needful for the vessel and the crew while in the Maldives.

Temperature and Humidity
Temperatures vary between 23'C and 32'C. Humidity is high rarely falling below 70% and the air carries a high percentage of salt.

Wind
Winds are generously mild: winds exceeding 90km/h is uncommon. February-April is the calm season: occasional gales interspersed within calm periods are experienced during the period May-October.

Current
In Maldives currents could be notorious at times for their strength. Generally influenced by the trade winds at monsoons in between the atoll channels. 4 knots of current have been experienced by sailors at times.

Tide
Important for the strength and the direction of current. Springs and neap, which has an interval of 7-8 days with some 13-14 hour, time in between the high tide.
